Since 2016, my mom and I have auctioned off an 8-course gourmet dinner for 8-12 people to raise money for a local charity. This dinner is a highlight of my year. This year, we were trying to source as many of our ingredients locally as possible. This was made particularly easy since we also work at a farmers market, where we have relationships with lots of local vendors. One of our favorite vendors, Three Angles Family Farm, sells bundles of beautiful, fresh lavender. And I thought, what better thing to do with lavender than to make a cocktail?
This drink is the perfect mix of sweet and tart. It was a hit for our event this year, and is a beautiful crowd pleaser for any event!
Recipe
Ingredients
1 oz gin of choice
0.5 oz lemon juice
0.5 oz lavender syrup (can be store-bought or homemade)
Prosecco
Directions
Pour gin, lemon juice, and lavender syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake until the shaker is frosty on the outside, about 15 seconds. Pour into a martini glass, top with chilled Prosecco, and garnish with a lavender sprig.
